Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Esparron Shade by Ray Garvey was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 58.75 (€ 94.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ray Garvey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hale-Bopp over Provence, France in August 2006 with an auction result of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,070.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Esparron Shade von Ray Garvey kam im März 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 58,75 (€ 94,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ray Garvey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hale-Bopp over Provence, France im August 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.070,69).
