Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View of Ongles, France; and Thistles in Limans, France by Ray Garvey was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 351.33). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ray Garvey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hale-Bopp over Provence, France, which sold at auction in August 2006 for GBP 720.00 (€ 1,070.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View of Ongles, France; and Thistles in Limans, France von Ray Garvey im Juli 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 240,00 (€ 351,33) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ray Garvey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hale-Bopp over Provence, France beobachtet, die im August 2006 für GBP 720,00 (€ 1.070,69) versteigert wurde.
