In April 2014 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled (Lollipop sign) by Ralph Steiner. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,441.96), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Steiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, New York, 1925 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,985.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im April 2014 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Lollipop sign) von Ralph Steiner zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.441,96) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Steiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, New York, 1925 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 18.985,42).
