This price was achieved in the auction Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 500.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Ralph Steiner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, New York, 1925 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,985.42).

Die Arbeit Two Men by the Sea von Ralph Steiner war einem Käufer im Dezember 2020 USD 3.276,00 (€ 2.678,66) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Steiner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, New York, 1925 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 18.985,42).
