Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Portfolio Ii by Ralph Steiner for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,723.44). This price was achieved in the auction Classic Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ralph Steiner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled, New York, 1925, which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,985.42).
