Gelatin silver print, printed before 1955, signed, titled, dated and annotated '"American Rural Baroque" - the MoMA likes to call it. That's agreeable to me, Baroque is more celebrative' in ink on the verso.

The work "American Baroque", Mechanicville, NY by Ralph Steiner was sold in the The Gift of Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in December 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,295.00 (€ 1,876.53) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Steiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, New York, 1925 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,985.42).

Die Arbeit "American Baroque", Mechanicville, NY von Ralph Steiner wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion The Gift of Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.295,00 (€ 1.876,53) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00.
