Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ralph Steiner could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection auction, the work Selected Images changed hands for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,133.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Steiner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, New York, 1925 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,985.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralph Steiner konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection wechselte die Arbeit Selected Images für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.133,28) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Steiner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, New York, 1925 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 18.985,42).
