The work Typewriter Keys by Ralph Steiner was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April 2014. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,883.92), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ralph Steiner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, New York, 1925 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 18,985.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Typewriter Keys von Ralph Steiner wurde im April 2014 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.883,92) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Steiner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, New York, 1925 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 18.985,42).
