This artwork by Qiu Shihua achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Untitled #8 sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,177.51) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qiu Shihua have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wooded Pasture in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 138,000.00 (€ 104,064.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qiu Shihua erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Untitled #8 für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.177,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qiu Shihua auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wooded Pasture im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 138.000,00 (€ 104.064,55).
