This artwork by Prodosh Dasgupta achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Refugee Couple sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 28,409.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Prodosh Dasgupta; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Broken Idol sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 38,465.63).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Prodosh Dasgupta erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Refugee Couple für USD 35.000,00 (€ 28.409,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Prodosh Dasgupta; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Broken Idol im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 38.465,63).
