In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Cradle by Prodosh Dasgupta. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,505.76), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prodosh Dasgupta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Broken Idol, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 38,465.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cradle von Prodosh Dasgupta zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.505,76) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Prodosh Dasgupta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Broken Idol beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 38.465,63) versteigert wurde.
