In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Cradle by Prodosh Dasgupta. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,262.99), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prodosh Dasgupta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Broken Idol, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 38,465.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cradle von Prodosh Dasgupta zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.262,99) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Prodosh Dasgupta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Broken Idol beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 38.465,63) versteigert wurde.
