This artwork by Portia Zvavahera achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work Ndiregererewo Murume Wangu sold for USD 170,100.00 (€ 150,704.35) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Portia Zvavahera; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Arising from the Unknown sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 181,885.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Portia Zvavahera erzielte im November 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Ndiregererewo Murume Wangu für USD 170.100,00 (€ 150.704,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Portia Zvavahera; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Arising from the Unknown im Oktober 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 181.885,93).
