This artwork by Piet Schipperus achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2001. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work 'Strand': On The Beach sold for NLG 7,050.00 (€ 3,388.56) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Piet Schipperus; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The beach seen from the dunes sold at auction in September 2005 with the realized price of EUR 4,560.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Piet Schipperus erzielte im Juni 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit 'Strand': On The Beach für NLG 7.050,00 (€ 3.388,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von NLG 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Piet Schipperus; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The beach seen from the dunes im September 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 4.560,00.
