In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work A shady woodland track; and Returning from the dairy by Piet Schipperus. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,296.14), 56% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Piet Schipperus; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The beach seen from the dunes sold at auction in September 2005 with the realized price of EUR 4,560.00.

Im März 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A shady woodland track; and Returning from the dairy von Piet Schipperus zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.296,14) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Piet Schipperus; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The beach seen from the dunes im September 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 4.560,00.
