Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations, which included the work Unloading the hay barge by Piet Schipperus. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,875.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Piet Schipperus - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The beach seen from the dunes, which sold at auction in September 2005 for EUR 4,560.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unloading the hay barge von Piet Schipperus zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Piet Schipperus mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The beach seen from the dunes beobachtet, die im September 2005 für EUR 4.560,00 versteigert wurde.
