Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Disguise Box, 2001 by Phyllis Galembo for USD 375.00 (€ 321.97). This price was achieved in the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Phyllis Galembo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Egungun, Bohican, Benin, 2006 in October this year with an auction result of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,576.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Disguise Box, 2001 von Phyllis Galembo für USD 375,00 (€ 321,97) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Phyllis Galembo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Egungun, Bohican, Benin, 2006 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.576,84).
