Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Phyllis Galembo could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection auction, the work Brazil, 1987 changed hands for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,717.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Phyllis Galembo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Egungun, Bohican, Benin, 2006, which sold at auction in October this year for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,576.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Phyllis Galembo konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection wechselte die Arbeit Brazil, 1987 für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.717,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Phyllis Galembo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Egungun, Bohican, Benin, 2006 beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.576,84) versteigert wurde.
