Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cactus Infinity by Philip Colbert was auctioned at Phillips in London in April 2017. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,906.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Colbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Painter Portrait 2022 (Sky Blue) in December last year with an auction result of GBP 71,820.00 (€ 81,077.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cactus Infinity von Philip Colbert kam im April 2017 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.906,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Colbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Painter Portrait 2022 (Sky Blue) im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 71.820,00 (€ 81.077,78).
