In November 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art | Hong Kong, which included the work Collaboration Paintings from The Lobster Land Museum (Zenith) by Philip Colbert. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 252,000.00 (€ 28,019.85), 68% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Colbert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Painter Portrait 2022 (Sky Blue), which sold at auction in December last year for GBP 71,820.00 (€ 81,077.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art | Hong Kong durch, in der auch die Arbeit Collaboration Paintings from The Lobster Land Museum (Zenith) von Philip Colbert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 252.000,00 (€ 28.019,85) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Colbert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Painter Portrait 2022 (Sky Blue) beobachtet, die im Dezember letzten Jahres für GBP 71.820,00 (€ 81.077,78) versteigert wurde.
