This artwork by Philip Colbert achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2021. In the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work London Study sold for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 38,179.13) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Colbert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Painter Portrait 2022 (Sky Blue), which sold at auction in December last year for GBP 71,820.00 (€ 81,077.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Philip Colbert erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit London Study für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 38.179,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Colbert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Painter Portrait 2022 (Sky Blue) beobachtet, die im Dezember letzten Jahres für GBP 71.820,00 (€ 81.077,78) versteigert wurde.
