Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Peter Paul Lens was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Icons, Russian and auction at Christies in London in December 2003. The price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 632.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Paul Lens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young gentleman wearing a black tricorn hat adorned with plumes, full face in silver-bordered red coat with slashed sleeves and silver frogging; purple curtain background in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 14,100.00 (€ 23,045.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Peter Paul Lens wurde im Dezember 2003 in der Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Icons, Russian and bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 446,50 (€ 632,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Paul Lens erzielen.
