Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction Objects of Vertu and Miniatures, which included the work A young lady in lace-bordered white dress with laced bodice, pink surcoat, pearl necklace, gold embroidered lace cap with gold embroidered green ribbon in her upswept dark hair; her right hand leaning on a letter on a table by Peter Paul Lens. The price achieved of GBP 493.50 (€ 796.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Paul Lens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young gentleman wearing a black tricorn hat adorned with plumes, full face in silver-bordered red coat with slashed sleeves and silver frogging; purple curtain background in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 14,100.00 (€ 23,045.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Objects of Vertu and Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young lady in lace-bordered white dress with laced bodice, pink surcoat, pearl necklace, gold embroidered lace cap with gold embroidered green ribbon in her upswept dark hair; her right hand leaning on a letter on a table von Peter Paul Lens zur Versteigerung kam.
