Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Phillips in New York held the auction Under the Influence, which included the work Sculpture Silhouette Prop (R. Rauschenberg "Monogram," 1955-1959) by Peter Coffin. The price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,491.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Coffin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pirate in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 140,276.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Under the Influence durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sculpture Silhouette Prop (R. Rauschenberg "Monogram," 1955-1959) von Peter Coffin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.491,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Coffin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pirate im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 140.276,71).
