Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Paul Kallos was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,016.36). Other works by Paul Kallos have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2009 by the work Les Menines, 1961 at EUR 5,738.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Paul Kallos im März 2009 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.016,36) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Paul Kallos wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2009 die Arbeit Les Menines, 1961 mit EUR 5.738,00.
