This artwork by Pablo Gargallo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2014. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Académie sold for GBP 64,900.00 (€ 78,739.32) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pablo Gargallo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Masque D'Arlequin Souriant Iii, 1927 in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 490,896.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pablo Gargallo erzielte im Februar 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Académie für GBP 64.900,00 (€ 78.739,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pablo Gargallo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Masque D'Arlequin Souriant Iii, 1927 im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 490.896,00.
