The work Caballo by Oswaldo Guayasamin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. It achieved a price of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,089.43), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 31%. Admittedly, works by Oswaldo Guayasamin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Quito en rojo in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 218,767.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Caballo von Oswaldo Guayasamin kam im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.089,43) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 31%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oswaldo Guayasamin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Quito en rojo im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.500,00 (€ 218.767,39).
