Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Oswaldo Guayasamin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in May 2021. In the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, the work Retrato de mujer sold for USD 31,562.50 (€ 25,883.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Oswaldo Guayasamin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Quito en rojo in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 218,767.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Oswaldo Guayasamin erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Retrato de mujer für USD 31.562,50 (€ 25.883,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oswaldo Guayasamin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Quito en rojo im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.500,00 (€ 218.767,39).
