Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work Sketch for "Port of Elizabeth, New Jersey" by Oscar Bluemner for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,135.85). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Discoveries at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oscar Bluemner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Illusion of a Prairie, New Jersey (Red Farm at Pochuck) in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 5,346,500.00 (€ 3,974,206.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sketch for "Port of Elizabeth, New Jersey" von Oscar Bluemner für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.135,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oscar Bluemner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Illusion of a Prairie, New Jersey (Red Farm at Pochuck) im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.346.500,00 (€ 3.974.206,50).
