Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Canal Boontown, Lock by Oscar Bluemner was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 988.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oscar Bluemner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Illusion of a Prairie, New Jersey (Red Farm at Pochuck) in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 5,346,500.00 (€ 3,974,206.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Canal Boontown, Lock von Oscar Bluemner wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 988,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oscar Bluemner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Illusion of a Prairie, New Jersey (Red Farm at Pochuck) im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.346.500,00 (€ 3.974.206,50).
