The work Approach of Night (Hoboken) by Oscar Bluemner was sold in the Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection auction at Christies in New York in April this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 365,400.00 (€ 330,978.26), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oscar Bluemner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Illusion of a Prairie, New Jersey (Red Farm at Pochuck) in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 5,346,500.00 (€ 3,974,206.50).

Die Arbeit Approach of Night (Hoboken) von Oscar Bluemner wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 365.400,00 (€ 330.978,26) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oscar Bluemner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Illusion of a Prairie, New Jersey (Red Farm at Pochuck) im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.346.500,00 (€ 3.974.206,50).
