Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Saphan by Omar Rayo was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 535.50 (€ 505.09). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Omar Rayo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ola-Zen I in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 105,059.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Saphan von Omar Rayo im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 535,50 (€ 505,09) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Omar Rayo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ola-Zen I im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 105.059,67).
