The work Omonalisa VII by Oluwole Omofemi was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in March this year. It achieved a price of USD 27,940.00 (€ 25,699.04), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Admittedly, works by Oluwole Omofemi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Invader in March last year with an auction result of USD 189,000.00 (€ 170,377.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Omonalisa VII von Oluwole Omofemi wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 27.940,00 (€ 25.699,04) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oluwole Omofemi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Invader im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 170.377,72).
