Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Oluwole Omofemi could be acquired at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Equity, 2020 changed hands for GBP 24,910.08 (€ 28,603.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Oluwole Omofemi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Invader in March last year with an auction result of USD 189,000.00 (€ 170,377.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Oluwole Omofemi konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Equity, 2020 für GBP 24.910,08 (€ 28.603,69) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oluwole Omofemi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Invader im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 170.377,72).
