Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Oliver Clare could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British, Continental and Russian Pictures auction, the work Plums, damsons and strawberries, on a mossy bank changed hands for GBP 288.00 (€ 428.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oliver Clare achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Primroses and apple blossom, a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, gooseberries, a plum and a strawberry, on a mossy bank in March 2003 with an auction result of GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,617.06).
