Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2001 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Native Flower Posy by Nora Heysen. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 3,525.00 (€ 2,112.92), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nora Heysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, 1936 in April this year with an auction result of AUD 270,600.00 (€ 162,188.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Native Flower Posy von Nora Heysen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 3.525,00 (€ 2.112,92) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nora Heysen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1936 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 270.600,00 (€ 162.188,42).
