Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Native Flower Posy by Nora Heysen. The price achieved of AUD 4,112.50 (€ 2,276.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,500.00 – 4,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nora Heysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, 1936 in April this year with an auction result of AUD 270,600.00 (€ 162,188.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Native Flower Posy von Nora Heysen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.112,50 (€ 2.276,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nora Heysen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1936 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 270.600,00 (€ 162.188,42).
