Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Roses In A Silver Bowl by Nora Heysen was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 7,200.00 (€ 4,390.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nora Heysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, 1936 in April this year with an auction result of AUD 270,600.00 (€ 162,188.42).
