This artwork by Nora Heysen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in May 2004. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Still Life sold for AUD 26,290.00 (€ 15,360.40) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nora Heysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, 1936 in April this year with an auction result of AUD 270,600.00 (€ 162,188.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nora Heysen erzielte im Mai 2004 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS wurde die Arbeit Still Life für AUD 26.290,00 (€ 15.360,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nora Heysen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1936 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 270.600,00 (€ 162.188,42).
