In August 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Still Life by Nora Heysen. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 26,290.00 (€ 15,258.69), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nora Heysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, 1936 in April this year with an auction result of AUD 270,600.00 (€ 162,188.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im August 2004 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von Nora Heysen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 26.290,00 (€ 15.258,69) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nora Heysen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1936 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 270.600,00 (€ 162.188,42).
