Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life, Spring Bunch by Nora Heysen was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in April 2005. The price achieved of AUD 16,730.00 (€ 10,144.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nora Heysen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait, 1936 in April this year with an auction result of AUD 270,600.00 (€ 162,188.42).

Die Arbeit Still Life, Spring Bunch von Nora Heysen wurde im April 2005 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 16.730,00 (€ 10.144,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 14.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nora Heysen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self Portrait, 1936 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 270.600,00 (€ 162.188,42).
