Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art | NY, which included the work Head with Snake by Niki de Saint Phalle. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,459.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Niki de Saint Phalle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nana Danseuse Noire (Grande Danseuse Negresse) - Circa 1968 in December 2015 with an auction result of EUR 961,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War and Contemporary Art | NY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Head with Snake von Niki de Saint Phalle zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.459,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Niki de Saint Phalle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nana Danseuse Noire (Grande Danseuse Negresse) - Circa 1968 im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 961.500,00.
