Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selected Images of the Brown Sisters by Nicholas Nixon was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,283.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Brown Sisters in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 331,481.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Selected Images of the Brown Sisters von Nicholas Nixon wurde im Oktober 2019 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.283,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Nixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Brown Sisters im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 331.481,81).
