Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Nicholas Nixon could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work View of the Federal Reserve Bank Building, Boston; View of terminal area, Logan Airport, Boston changed hands for USD 1,270.00 (€ 1,150.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Brown Sisters in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 331,481.81).
