Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Nicholas Nixon could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work View of the Federal Reserve Bank Building, Boston; View of terminal area, Logan Airport, Boston changed hands for USD 1,270.00 (€ 1,150.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Brown Sisters in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 331,481.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicholas Nixon konnte im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit View of the Federal Reserve Bank Building, Boston; View of terminal area, Logan Airport, Boston für USD 1.270,00 (€ 1.150,36) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Nixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Brown Sisters im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 331.481,81).
