Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work North view from Battery Park, New York by Nicholas Nixon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,826.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Brown Sisters in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 331,481.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit North view from Battery Park, New York von Nicholas Nixon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.826,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Nixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Brown Sisters im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 331.481,81).
