Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,805.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Brown Sisters in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 331,481.81).

Die Arbeit View South from 48th Street, New York von Nicholas Nixon kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.805,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Nixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Brown Sisters im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 331.481,81).
