monotype in brown from an engraved cherrywood woodblock, 1950, on tissue-thin Japan paper, signed and dated 30 May 1950 in pencil, the sheet with pale time and mount staining, otherwise in good condition; together with Untitled, from: Opus Eleven, monotype in brown from an engraved woodblock, circa 1965-68, on tissue-thin Japan paper, signed and inscribed For Norman affectionately gabo in pencil, with the extreme sheet corners detached from their mount, otherwise in good condition

Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern Masters & Polígrafa: Celebrating 50 Years of Printmaking, which included the work Untitled, from: Opus 3 by Naum Gabo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,408.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Naum Gabo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Linear Construction in Space No. 2 in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 515,250.00 (€ 597,653.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern Masters & Polígrafa: Celebrating 50 Years of Printmaking durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, from: Opus 3 von Naum Gabo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.800,00 – 2.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.408,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Naum Gabo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Linear Construction in Space No. 2 im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 515.250,00 (€ 597.653,05).
