Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mochtar Apin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Townscape sold for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 30,044.99) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mochtar Apin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Memecah (Triptych), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mochtar Apin erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Townscape für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 30.044,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44) versteigert wurde.
