This artwork by Mochtar Apin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Pabrik Teh (Tea Factory) sold for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 29,016.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mochtar Apin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Memecah (Triptych), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mochtar Apin erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Pabrik Teh (Tea Factory) für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 29.016,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44) versteigert wurde.
