Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale, which included the work Batik Variant Iii by Mochtar Apin. The price achieved of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,381.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 90,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mochtar Apin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Memecah (Triptych) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Batik Variant Iii von Mochtar Apin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 12.381,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 90.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44).
